Each edition features a programme of dance works by one or more choreographers, with a total performance duration of 50 minutes. Individual works can range from 10 to 50 minutes, allowing each programme to take shape around the works and artists selected.
The platform offers choreographers an opportunity to present their work to an audience, introduce their artistic practice, and gain visibility within the professional performing arts scene. It welcomes works of different scales and approaches, recognising that a choreographic work does not need to be a full-length production to deserve a stage.
For audiences, 50 FORMAT offers an accessible way to encounter contemporary choreography, discover unfamiliar artists, and experience different perspectives within a single evening.
What we offer is simple: a stage, a technical team, and the time to be seen. In return, choreographers bring a glimpse of their world.
